Tarran is a semi-professional footballer who graduated from North Iowa Area Community College in 2020. During that time she captained the team, and achieved ICCAC All Region First Team, and NJCAA Region XI Honourable Mention All-Region. She also made the Deans and Presidents list for her academics and was enrolled into Phi Theta Kappa honours society. She graduated with an Associates degree in Psychology and an Associates degree in Athletic Training.

Tarran enrolled to NCAA D2 Francis Marion University, however due to COVID restrictions she was unable to complete her Junior year and came home to continue her playing career at Portsmouth University and go on to complete her Bachelors degree in Forensic Psychology, with a focus on sport as a criminal intervention technique.
