Interview

Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:

Committed, competitive, tenacious, resilient, powerful.

Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:

I get excited at every gala as I love to race. One of the best memories I have as a swimmer is winning my first national title at the age of 14 in the summer of 2022. It was the 50m breaststroke final I was in lane 2, and despite not going in with the fastest time I had the mindset that I was going to win no matter what. That day I had the best start and led the race the whole way touching in a time of 32.08(LCM). I remember every little detail and everything I felt, it was the first time I had won at such a high level and the feeling of winning can never be compared to anything else. In some ways that individual race has made me who I am today as it made me realize winning is addictive, but in order to win, all the preparation has to be done perfectly. What made it extra special was the day before I was devastated as I had missed out on medaling in the 100m Breaststroke. I led the race the whole way from the middle lanes but had a terrible finish and finished 4th. I learnt from that and made sure it didn’t happen the following day in the 50 Breaststroke.

Goals:

To have absolutely the best experience swimming in a professional college environment, achieving academic success and making new friends. To be part of a high performing team with others who share the same motivation and mindset.

From a swimming perspective I have a target of qualifying for the European Junior champs in 2025.

Anything else we should know?

I absolutely love racing and the competitiveness that brings out in me and my performances. It’s been amazing to be part of national relay events as I am very much a team player and thrive in team environments. I love the pressure of having to deliver a fast swim to help my teammates win events. I am determined to be the best swimmer I can be and am prepared to work hard to achieve my goals. I thrive in high pressure environments and absolutely love breaking PBs.

I have US citizenship.
