Interview

Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:

Driven, committed, goal-orientated, respectful, enthusiastic

Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:

During the 2025 long course swimming season I was diagnosed with appendicitis. This put me out of the water for several weeks and clearly affected my performance, however I was still able to qualify for British nationals to compete with my team in the relay and earn a spot in the final for the men’s 16 and under 4X100m freestyle relay. Furthemore, as we progressed into the short course season I said to my coach I want to qualify for winter nationals with the intention of dropping around 3 seconds. I started off the season with around 55 seconds for my 100 free, and finished the season with my current PB of 52.45. This is a highlight for me as it personally showed to me what I am capable of even after encountering setbacks. This further highlighted to me for the first time in my swimming career of how if you fully commit yourself to high goals and standards that it is completely possible if you are willing and driven to put the work and effort in to improve.

Goals:

This year If I do not qualify for British national because of a joint age group17/Over I would like to final and medal in the 50 and 100 metre freestyle at English nationals.

Anything else we should know?

I would like to swim internationally at some point whether it be for Great Britain or South Africa.
