Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:
Curious, engaged, resilient, confident, cheerful.
Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
One of my favourite memories in my swimming career was when I made it to the final of the 100m backstroke at the British Championships. I was in lane 6, with a real shot at the medal. Walking out onto the pool deck, the adrenaline was unlike anything I’d ever felt.
The first 50 meters felt amazing. I could see the swimmer in the lane inside me, and I knew I had a chance. Then, the second 50m felt like time slowed down. Everything was moving in slow motion and the swimmer in the outside lane started to close the gap. In the final 5 meters, we were all neck and neck, and I just missed out on the medal. When I looked up and saw that I had finished 4th, I felt a mix of emotions. The feeling of racing and being in that moment was all that mattered. That’s when I truly realised why I swim.
Goals:
My goals in swimming are to create opportunities that will help me grow both as an athlete and as an individual. I aim to reach new milestones, such as securing spots on competitive teams and gaining admission to top universities. Along the way, I hope to connect with like-minded people, build meaningful relationships, and gain new experiences that will shape my future, both in swimming and beyond.
Anything else we should know?
Throughout my career, I have consistently reached finals across all strokes in both British and English long-course competitions. Additionally, I have made finals at the Winter Nationals in both backstroke and breaststroke events.
