Interview

Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:

Disciplined, enthusiastic, persistent, diligent, patient.

Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:

The best memory of my athletic career was competing in an ESSA relay with my teammate who is going to the Commonwealth games. I was nervous because I didn’t want to let her and the others down. It was inspiring to watch her get ready for the race and mentally prepare herself. She got me thinking positively to overcome my nerves, and with that positive attitude I swam my best relay split ever.

Goals:

My short term goals include making to to the European Juniors in 2023 and other high level meets. I would also like to improve all of my strokes beyond freestyle and improve my distance freestyle events.

Anything else we should know?

I love training with swimmers who are as dedicated and motivated as I am, and who have the same work ethic and drive as I do. I enjoy talking with them about why we swim and push ourselves to the limit day in and day out. This camaraderie and the coaches combined with my determination are what inspire me to keep working and never give up even when I miss my targets—turning those setbacks into learning experiences that will eventually make me stronger. Disappointments from missing a goal are what fuel me to do better and be better the next time.
