Interview

Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:

Analytical, competitive, resilient, hardworking, charismatic.

Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:

The best memory of my athletic career was winning the ESSAs Senior Boys 4x50m Free Relay Final. We beat our closest rivals Mount Kelly in a tight contest. It was a performance where every member of the team delivered when it counted. I swam the last leg and out touched one of my closest competitors. Winning as a team when all the training came together for all of us at exactly the right moment was a real high.

Goals:

To combine pool and gym based training to become the best swimmer I am physically and mentally capable of being. To take every opportunity I can in order to facilitate this.

To be part of a high performing team with others who share the same motivation and mindset.

To compete at European Juniors this year (2024).

To be selected for the LA28 Olympic team.

To balance all of the above with achieving a high quality engineering degree, and getting to know a new country.

Anything else we should know?

I feel the swimmer coach relationship is the most important part of swimming and is key to maximising potential.

I am entirely focused in the pool and 100% committed to getting the most out of each and every training session.

I have found significant gains from the right land based strength training and believe that this can be as important as the pool time.

I enjoy being part of a team, and the camaraderie that arises from going through tough training together, as well as the buzz of contributing to team successes.
