Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
My best memory would probably be from the Winter of 2024 during the National Arena League. White Oak is a small club and in the past we hadn’t really performed highly at this time of the year because this league is very competitive. Last year however, we had a really strong team and to secure us the win for that round of the league, I swam in the squadron relay which is typically the very last event of the night which is a 400m freestyle with 8 swimmers (4 male, 4 female, with a mix of age groups). I was anchoring the relay and another team had ordered their relay differently working their way down from oldest to youngest meaning I had to catch up a pretty substantial 15m gap. Winning this relay put our team at the top of the points table for our division but what was more moving to me was speaking to my teammates, particularly the younger ones who told me that they looked up to me and aspired to one day reach my level. It was really touching for me to see that my hard work and success was passing my love for the sport down to the future of my team.
Goals:
Next year, I would like to be selected to represent my region in the Euro Meet 2026 in Luxembourg. To do this, I will have to win an individual Olympic Event at the Swim England South East Region Winter Championships 2025.
Anything else we should know?
Swimming is my main sport and I complement my training in the pool with regular gym and dryland work.
During the summer off season, I have set my sights on trying to get down to a sub 20 minute 5k. My current personal best is 25 minutes.
