Interview

Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:

driven, dedicated, self-disciplined, resilient, passionate

Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:

My best memory of my athletics career so far is becoming Scottish National champion in both the 100m and 200m for the first time. During this year, I had just moved to a new club and throughout the year I had only competed locally so there was not much competition. This was my first proper national competition, so I was incredibly nervous. At the end of the day, I managed to win two national titles and achieve two massive PBs. I have never felt happier, and I absolutely loved the thrill of it all.

Goals:

My goals within track and field are to one day represent Scotland at national and the international level. I also dream of myself competing for Great Britain on a global level at events like the Olympics and World Championships. My life goal is to be a professional athlete and with this in mind I hope that it will allow me to travel the world, as that is another big aspiration of mine. But my main goals in both athletics and life is to always have fun, make new friends and learn something new every day.

Anything else we should know?

I am conscientious and hardworking at school and out of school and pride myself in completing everything to the best of my ability. I would also say I am friendly and respectful towards anyone who I meet and love speaking to people. As well as athletics, I also play netball for my school team which has made me acknowledge the amazing aspects of being part of a team. I also play badminton and tennis with my family in my spare time. One of my new passions which I have acquired over lockdown is meditation along with yoga. Meditating has helped me so much in terms of stress and I do it whenever I want to ease my mind.
