Interview

Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:

fast, determined, motivated, competitive, hardworking.

Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:

My best memory was achieving silver at the Northern County Cross Country Championships in Bedale in January 2020. I set off at a comfortable pace on a gradual hill and after 1.2 km I found myself in the top 10 feeling good. Then halfway through the race, I noticed that the leader had pulled away by at least 15 secs, so I pushed the group on until half a lap to go, then I dropped the group, chasing the leader. In that moment I felt like all the spectators were cheering me on to catch the leader as he was holding onto first, even though I fell short by 3 secs to gain silver position, it gave me confidence heading into the rest of cross country season.

Goals:

I want to represent Great Britain at the Olympic Games to hopefully win a medal, and I will continue to work hard to achieve this. I believe that my degree will be a springboard for my future success.

Anything else we should know?

I really enjoy cycling, swimming and skiing when I am not running.  I enjoy watching formula 1 and have recently been introduced to golf!
