Interview

Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:

reliable, amicable, dependable, hard-working, leader

Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:

Towards the end of my 2017/2018 season, me, my coach and my family had targeted a seven meter jump in the long jump. Unfortunately, throughout the season I was missing it by a few centimeters. So, at a meet in Scotland, I knew it was my last chance to really do it and I could just hear my family and everything my coach had said. To my amazement I finally jumped over the seven meter mark with 7,05m. This is my most memorable athletic moment as it really felt like I was jumping with my family and coach by my side.

Goals:

My short-term goal is just to keep improving and take as much as I can from athletics. My mid-term goal is to get a chance to represent Great Britain at the senior level as I have represented England and UK at several occasions. My long-term goal is to compete in the Olympics in the decathlon and to be able to set a new record in history. I really want to put GB back in the spotlight for their remarkable decathletes that we have had in the past.

Anything else we should know?

I have leadership qualities which have been seen both in academics and sports. I was awarded Head Boy of Secondary School in 2017/18 and at my new school I have been appointed as student president of my school. I was also awarded sports personality by school, club and county. I am the 2017/18 National Sports Hall Ambassador for England.
