Interview

Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:

dedicated, creative, enthusiastic, flexible, optimistic

Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:

My best athletic memory would have to be winning the English Schools in 2019. I entered the competition ranked 7th out of 8 competitors. I finished first with a 43cm PB, which also took me to the top of the U20 UK rankings. I cleared every single bar with the first attempt except 4.80, which I cleared on my 3rd attempt. My consistency helped me win the competition on count-back and secured my selection for the England Team competing at the Youth Nations Cup in Dublin. Although achieving a 43cm PB was incredible, I really enjoyed the atmosphere created by the audience as well as the support from my fellow competitors cheering me on just as much.

Goals:

My biggest goal to achieve within pole vault would definitely be competing at the Olympics. I also aspire to compete at the world and European level throughout my career. My life goals are to travel the world and experience as many cultures as possible. This is one of the reasons why I would like to study in the USA, as it would broaden my horizons and allow me to experience new things. I also aspire to build a career in the field of art and design.

Anything else we should know?

I have a passion for art, design, photography and graphics. I have just completed a Level 3 Extended Diploma in art and design, achieving distinction level. In addition to this, I have also completed a Level 3 Diploma in sporting excellence with the British Athletics AASE Programme.
